Projects for my April Clubs

Chantilly is our featured paper pack for club projects this month.  Here's a photo of the layout and a couple of the cards we'll be doing at club this month (we'll also be doing at least one of the cards featuring the April Stamp of the Month--scroll down a little to see those).
The Chantilly paper pack is full of beautiful pastel spring colors, but it also has just a touch of Outdoor Denim (navy) in it.  I used the Outdoor Denim color to help balance out the dark colors in my photos and to make the title pop off the page.
I used a mixture of flowers--many of them cut from the Artiste or Art Philosophy Cricut cartridges.  I also cut some of the flowers from the coordinating Chantilly textiles (fabric).  I didn't cut my fabric flowers on the Cricut--instead, I cut a flower out of cardstock from the Cricut and then traced it onto the back of my fabric and cut it by hand.  I think you can cut fabrics on the Cricut, but you'll probably first need to put some kind of stabilizer on the back of it.

Pamela O'Connor posted a card similar to this on our Consultant bulletin board, and I just had to try one for myself.  The yo-yo's (accordion flowers) are cut on the Artiste cartridge (I think I cut the pieces about 1 to 1 1/4").

I taught this card to my club members a few years ago, and it was really fun to revisit it with such CUTE paper!!  I've heard the card called a "tri-fold shutter card" and a "tri-shutter" card. . .you can find the pattern on www.splitcoaststampers.com (look under Resources).
