Easy, Affordable Valentine Projects!

I host a Valentine workshop every year, and it's one of my favorite classes because we get to make easy  projects that revolve around candy!!!   Here are a few of the projects we'll be learning this year:

I've seen these little Nugget mailboxes on the internet, but I finally took the time to make one myself--why did I wait so long??  This patterned paper from the Heartstrings paper pack was perfect for it, and I think the little embellishments (Clear Sparkle and one of the hearts from the Stuck On You Puffies) add just the right touch!

I'm a big fan of our Cut Above Treat Bag Kits--we've got four different designs, and this is the new Valentine kit.  The round stickers fit perfectly on Rolo candy, and believe me when I tell you that this takes only MINUTES to put together!!  I amped mine up a bit by adding Gold Shimmer Trim and Pixie Twine.  The "Happy Valentine's Day" is one of our little M-sized stamps for only $2.95.  I mounted it on a stamped circle from one of the Artiste stamp sets.

When we get a product like the Cut Above Valentine Treat Bags, you KNOW we'll have to turn it into something completely different.  This time,  I trimmed a little off of the top of the treat bag and glued it together so it's a flat card that doesn't open.  I inserted the sucker into the treat box window.  These monster stamps (B1470 Love Ya Silly for $9.95) are so adorable. . .makes me wish my kids were still in elementary school. . .okay, I'm kidding--I never want to do the elementary years again!  Anyway, I had to make mine a "she monster" with a bow from the Puffies!!  You might notice that I have green Shimmer Trim running across the top of the card.  Green is one of the few Shimmer Trim colors we DON'T carry, but we DO carry white, and you can color our White Shimmer Trim ANY color with the Shin Han Markers.  Such a cool tip!!

A friend of mine posted this idea on Facebook, but they had used toilet paper roll tubes to make the owls.  I'm all for frugal recycling, but I decided I could do the same thing with our My Creations Clear Treat Tubes (Z1823, $5.95).  I just created a tube of paper (this pattern came from the Brushed Paper Pack) that sticks up above the clear treat tube.  You just fold the ends of the tube to create the owl ears--another SUPER EASY project.  Again, I used the Puffies to add some fun sparkle, and I made the owl wings out of Pink Glitter Paper.  If you whip these out for the kids in your child's class, give yourself a GOLD STAR!!!
